Follow the Journey

TO the parents of Easten, Ryan, and Lucy we are here safe and sound.  We are living in Casa NIca which is a little house right in the middle of Masaya,NI.  We are currently on a scavenger hunt looking for stuff.  Later we are hopefully going to the pier to see the sun set.  Last night we had our first meal here and were all quite shocked by the difference in culture here.  We all got played by a couple kids who were all very well versed in the art of persuation. WE bought trinkets from them for what we found out later was a very unreasonable price.  Near the end of our meal a fellow came up to us and asked for one of our plates which still had some leftover food on it.  we gave him the ok for one plate and then he proceeded to take food off of a couple other plates.  This moment was very eye opening because we all realized that he was desperate for food that he would take our leftovers right off our plates.  But then later we all came together and talked about it and figured out how it made us feel.

On a more positve note, we are really excited to be spending today exporing our new suroundings and getting to know the customs and culture first hand.  IT is going to be AWESOME!!!!! WE need to get off the computer now before temptation kicks in to check social media and instead go explore this beautiful and exciting city.
