The last few days have been extremely busy as I have been spending time in and around the tour lead training simulation we are doing over the week. I have been kept busy with paperwork, organizing, cooking, meeting, greeting, cleaning and everything in between amongst the great weather (and even having chances to cycle and take some mechanical training which will come in handy in life or even the future as more bikes need to be worked on in the shop). Gritty, fun, surprising and eventful. I have loads to tell you. I feel the perfect balance, especially amongst (now) fellow cyclists like myself, thriving in a beautiful environment. I cannot begin to explain how happy I have been, even when things seemed stressful or the ride was challenging or the workplace becoming packed. I have realized that this really is where I am meant to be in life. I cannot imagine really anywhere else. This is it.
It is even true like the culture shock, norming, forming and all of those things that create a balanced life, lifestyle, network, mindset and element–it takes 6-8 weeks.
Is it even crazy to say that I have even thought of coming back next spring-summer when second semester of college gets out in May and go around cycling and doing trips?
P.S. I have finally spent (more or less) this past weekend “at home” aka close enough but literally “going the distance.” One day doing a follow up of tour leader arrow marking of 3 different courses (for the three rides for the three training teams); in all covering 108 km in a single day, almost in one trip plus a 65km the next day and finally a 60 km.
I am certain though, going far enough and fast enough on free time on these trips, I have been set free.
P.P.S. I went 54 km top speed going down a hill I conquered….and it was exhilirating! (yeahhh you can figure out how many miles an hour that was).
Also at the end of long days of work and cycling, I love being able to come how and be an peace with the family.
