Since our last blog we made it to our student directed portion of the trip. We decided to go to Aegina, Greece, which was about an hour and 15 minute ferry ride from Athens. We planned a few activities that consisted of Rail Biking our last day in Athens, Snorkeling in the Mediterranean sea here in Aegina, and tomorrow we will be doing some water sports at a local spot. Overall the group has done a great job planning and executing activities, and we are excited for our last 2 days here!
What were three of the top highlights this week?:
The highlights of this last week were definitely the activities we planned. We all did a great job communicating on what everyone wanted to do and decided on some great stuff for the group to do. Our last day in Athens we went rail biking. No one really knew what to expect but the experience was incredible and something we all loved. We also went snorkeling while we were here which was also amazing. We got all the equipment and made our way to the beach where we spent about an hour in the water getting to explore! Tomorrow we are planning on doing some water sports which again should be awesome. Overall, Aegina has been amazing and the group killed it with the planning of this portion of the trip!
What is something you or the group is challenged by this week?:
Some things that the group was challenged by this week was budgeting and making sure everything was planned for our student directed travel week. Even though it was a struggle we inevitably planned the things we needed to plan including the budget.
🌎 What are you most grateful for this week?:
Something that surprised me was that this island is known for its pistachios. Next week we’re wrapping up our trip with a full week in Re:Green to learn about permaculture and self-sustainability. I’m very grateful for the people and being able to plan this beautiful trip to this beautiful island and choosing what we’re going to do within budget.
