Friends and Family. We have just arrived in Nadi after a day of traveling here from Nananu village. It has not even been a day yet and I miss it already. We were lucky to be able to stay another day due to rain holding us back from crossing the river. Earlier this week we were very fortunate in being able to attend a weeding in the village, it was honestly a magical day. Brendon was able to take part in the wedding and be a groomsman which is a huge honor. The day consisted of a ceremony then a huge meal in the community center we ended the night with kava and dancing. For the rest of the week we finished our work, helped out at the school, and took a swim in the river. One day we all took a hike up to a waterfall, it was such an amazing day! On monday Kailey, Emma, Maddie, Thomas, Kailey and I all rode horses up a mountain to a local farm where we drank from fresh coconuts, I could not think of a better way to end my week in the village. On our last day we spent all day with our families then at night we had a feast with the chief and had a all night dance and kava party. Some of us never even went to sleep but I lasted until 4 in the morning! It was very bittersweet leaving the village but I can day we all are excited for our next journey.
