¡¡¡ Ipa !!! Thats ¨hello¨ in k´iche, the indiginous Mayan language. We are just about done with day 2 of our first homestay in Pasac village. The three hour bumpy car ride was well worth it. So far we have had a day and a half of extremely fun, as well as exhausting, activities. These range from checking out the local coffee producer to playing a Gringos vs Guatamalans soccer game. The Guatamalans won both male (4-3) and female (4-0) games. But the Gringos got an A for effort.
We are all so happy to be here. It is next to impossible for one to walk through the village without a) getting a sweet tan/burn, b) becoming extremely dirty, and c) being swarmed by children who want to either hold one´s hand or touch one´s hair.
Time for me to go take a freezing cold shower and sleep on my bed minus a matress.
