Hello from Rhiannon here in Baños! I am in love with this beautiful little town, it may be touristy, but for a good reason! It feels like a little piece of heaven here and I don’t want to think about leaving. Yesterday, Cecelia (my roomie!) and I walked the streets with our friendly host down immediately after meeting him. We got confused about what time it was, and missed meeting the group for dinner. We spent the rest of the night wandering the city looking for the pizzeria with no luck. It was a great adventure that had to end with calling our great leaders, no harm was done. We were bummed to miss pizza cones, but it sounds like everyone else enjoyed them. After, Brian and Josh went and had some great fried chicken. Everyone’s host families seem great, we’re in pairs, but Austin and Jackie are both by themselves. We had our first Spanish classes today where we said silly things like “soy Ella la boca de la vaca” and Emily, who had know experience with Spanish, learned “this is a pretty pen” for her first phrase. Now, we’re on a scavenger hunt through the city in pairs. (although when we left lots of people weren’t there, Philip was off buying a soccer ball I guess? Yay for head starts!)
