Final Post from Fiji

Hello faithful blog followers!

This is Jamo from Michigan here, updating you all on our final week in Rabulu and last few days in Fiji. We spent our 2nd week in Rabulu continuing to work on the cement pathway which we unfortunately did not finish due to the rainy conditions.  On the morning of the 4th we were given a tour of the Fiji water plant which is only a 10 minute bus ride up the road from Rabulu.  We learned a lot of about how the factory works and, and saw the whole process in action.  In the afternoon we helped some of the villagers plant sugar cane which was an incredible experience, and a good change of scenery from our work on the pathway. After two incredible weeks filled with Kava, beautiful sunsets, stunning mountain hikes, and incredible hospitality from the villagers, it was time to say goodbye.  We were sent off in style two nights ago by the villagers with a Kava ceremony similar to the one we had when we arrived, and yesterday morning after our final breakfast (and lots of tears) we boarded our bus to leave for Nadi. We are spending our last two nights in Fiji at the Horizon Backpackers Hostel in Nadi, a posh little place near the ocean.  We went into downtown Nadi for our last full day today, did some final shopping, bartering, and postcard sending before we have our final closing circle for Fiji tonight.  We will be up bright and early for our flight to Auckland tomorrow!! Due to regrettable internet access here in Fiji, we are having problems uploading photos but expect many more from New Zealand! Seqa na Leqa! (no worries!)

PS Just like to give a shoutout to my man David Regan in Austin, Brian Kremers in Northfield, and Hannah Chandler in Boulder! stay classy guys!
