Follow the Journey

Hello all, we have offically started our second language schoolin the beautiful town of San Andres. The town is located on Lago Peten-Itza which is very clean and warm for swimming. The weather is very hot and humid here so the lake is ideal for cooling off after our morning classes. We are all staying in individual homestays and it seems that everyone is enjoying their families. We had our first day of classes yesterday and it seems that this week, what we learn will be in our hands. The teaching style and school are very different from Xela and we will need to adjust to this style of teaching. We are confident that we will learn a lot. We have some activities in this upcoming week such as voluneering in a smaller community, learning to make tamales, story telling about Lago Peten-Itza, and possibly visiting an organic farm. The rest of our time will be spent in school, swimming, and with our families. We will end our travels in Guatemla in Tikal at the ruins and next week its off to Nicaragua but until then were enjoying our last moments in this beautiful country.
