We MADE IT!! Blair and Rita reporting to all of you folks at home that we actually made it through a 4-day treck on the South Island of NZ. We decided all last minute that we where gonna do the Kepler Treck and it all worked out wonderfully. We spent 4 days trecking up and down the big mountains and it was just about 7 hours of hiking a day. And boy did that take a lot out of us. The first hut we got to was Luxmore and the hike up there was all UP HILL!! We had our packs filled with pretty much no clothes and 4days worth of food and for RITA and BLAIR, and the rest of the kids that consisted of PEANUT BUTTER & JELLYY SANDWICHES!! The second day of hiking we started out early because of many avalanche warnings and some wolf attacks that had happened the night before(HAHAHHAHA JUST PLAYIN)…so to be extra careful we decided to get an early start out on the day with our park ranger Pat. Who was a very helpful man. The rest of the treck went very smoothly and we all seemed to enjoy outdoor living and the nature that was surronding us…the scenery was simply AMAZING and all tried too soak it in as much as possibly. On our second to last day trecking it was HALLOWEEN here in NZ and for all of us students it was a time to dress up. All of us had some clever costumes and enjoyed the day thourghly…We arrived back in Te Anu tired and soar and ready for lots of sleep. Today, we arrived back in Queenstown for one more night and we are off to the wonderful land of Sydney, Australia tomorrow!!
